Housing Officer – Full-time, Permanent Position (35 hours per week)
Salary on a scale PA17-PA20 (Grade 6) £37,277 – £40,516 (including island allowance).
An essential car user allowance of £1,708 and mileage rate will be paid in addition.
The Association also operates a contributory occupational pension scheme.
We have an exciting opportunity for a person to join our housing management team as the Association continues to grow and develop.
The Housing Officer will be based in Lerwick and will support the Director of Housing in managing housing services, ensuring tenant needs are met, and maintaining compliance with housing legislation. Key duties include assisting tenants with tenancy issues, managing tenancy agreements, collecting rent, addressing antisocial behaviour, conducting inspections, and promoting tenant participation.
It is essential that you are a good communicator, have experience of working with people providing support and advice as well as the ability to handle difficult situations in a calm and sensitive manner. You will also have experience of completing reports and using computer systems including word and excel. Previous experience of working in the housing field would be desirable.
You will be educated to a higher level or equivalent in core subjects and a willingness to undertake further training.
