Community Development Company of Nesting (CDCN)

Aald Skül Community Hub, South Nesting

DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (fixed-term contract for 1 year)
Hours: 25 hours per week
Salary: £20 per hour (employed) or £23 per hour (self-employed)

Would you like to play a key role in supporting and strengthening the communities of Nesting, Girlsta and Wadbister, helping to deliver projects and ensure the long-term sustainability of local facilities and services?

CDCN is seeking a motivated Development Officer to support the sustainable development of the Aald Skül Community Hub and help deliver priorities set out in the 2024–2034 Nesting, Girlsta and Wadbister Community Action Plan.

The role involves developing and coordinating projects, identifying and securing funding, engaging with the local community, and building partnerships with key stakeholders.  This includes supporting the ongoing development and sustainability of the Aald Skül Community Hub, exploring income-generating opportunities, and helping to deliver priorities identified in the Community Action Plan.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, experience in project coordination and/or community development, and the ability to work independently across a range of priorities.

The post is based at the Aald Skül Community Hub, South Nesting.  Some flexibility in working hours is required, including occasional evening or weekend work.  A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable due to the rural nature of the area.

The role may be offered on either an employed (PAYE) basis or on a self-employed/contract basis, depending on the preferred arrangement.

For the full job description and application details, please email: vardasta@btinternet.com

Closing date: Thursday, 30th April 2026.
