Scottish Sea Farms is seeking an experienced and highly capable Salmon Farm Manager to take the lead at our state-of-the-art £7.5 million marine facility in Shetland Isles. Scheduled to be stocked May 2026, the new site – Billy Baa – will be the latest addition to our farming operations, featuring nine 160m pens, one 120m pen, and a maximum allowable biomass (MAB) of 4,091 tonnes.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring the health and welfare of the fish, meeting production targets, maintaining equipment, and leading a skilled team. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong organisational skills, a focus on environmental and safety standards, and a passion for aquaculture.

Our farm teams are at the forefront of our success in ensuring the best management of our superior quality Scottish salmon – you are in a key position and your input is critical to us driving outstanding performance.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in salmon farming. Strong leadership and people management skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of fish husbandry and health management. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are key skills for this role.

To apply for a role with us, you must be eligible to work in the UK. You must also be able to achieve and retain an ML5 or ENG1 medical.
