We are looking for a deckhand to join our mussel farm. If you’re interested in joining our team and being part of a growing, sustainable industry please email jobs@blueshellmussels.co.uk for an application form.

The ideal applicant will have an interest in working on vessels and learning more about mussel farming operations. Extra consideration will be given to applicants with previous skipper or engineering experience.

 

DUTIES

Assisting the crew with daily farming operations including:

  • Harvesting mussels
  • Retubing
  • Line and site maintenance
  • Vessel servicing and general maintenance

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Salary £45,645
  • 2 week on 2 week off shift rotation
  • Home at end of workday
  • 4% employer pension contribution
  • Subsidised canteen
  • Discretionary employee performance bonus

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ENG-1 or ML5 medical certificate
  • Mandatory safety certificates required by the workboat code (1 day firefighting, sea survival, First Aid)
  • Driving licence
