Energy / Power off for many in Yell after network fault
A POWER cut in Yell has affected more than 400 properties.
SSEN said a fault occurred on the network in Yell at around 9.15am this morning (Wednesday), with 437 properties affected.
Arrangements were made for an engineer to travel to Yell on the next available ferry. It was anticipated they would be on site after 11.30am.
In the interim SSEN has been able to re-route some of these supplies on to different parts of the network, and the number of properties off-supply was reduced slightly.
A spokesperson from SSEN Distribution said: “We’d like to apologise to our customers on Yell for this morning’s power cut and assure them that we’re doing all we can to restore supplies as safely and as quickly as possible.”
