Letters / Concerned with everyone’s safety

Yesterday (Sunday) …loads of cyclists on the road from Scalloway, they must have been off a cruise ship.

They were crossing the road at the Black Gait, very difficult to see in the mist. Please keep a close look out all of the time, particularly with low visibility.

I noticed they did have some sort of high visibility clothing, but in daylight with mist, they were still hard to see, plus they appeared to be just following the leader across the road, very dangerous!

To be clear, I’ve no issue with cyclists on the road, and no issue with visiting cruise ships, only concerned about everyone’s safety!
