WREATHS were laid earlier at the county war memorial in Lerwick as Shetland marks Remembrance Sunday.

Lord lieutenant Lindsay Tulloch, Shetland MSP Hannah Mary Goodlad and Shetland Islands Council convener Bryan Peterson led the laying of wreaths.

There are events across Shetland today (Sunday) to remember those lost in the two world wars and other conflicts.

A service was held at the Voe war memorial, before folk gathered at the Brae kirk, with the same taking place later in Ollaberry.

Wreaths were also laid at the Dunrossness war memorials.

A remembrance service is also scheduled for 3pm at the Shetland Bus memorial in Scalloway.

Meanwhile Lerwick Town Hall will host a public exhibition soon to mark the 110th anniversary of the Battle of the Ancre during the First World War. More details can be found here.
