Paid for contentCrime drama filming to move out west on Friday

Note: this image has the correct date (12 April) but the wrong day stated. The filming will take place on Friday 12 April.

A CLOSURE of a section of the Watness to Dale of Waas road has been granted between 4pm and 8pm tomorrow (Friday) to allow for filming of the Shetland TV series.

The closure will only be effective for a two hour period within these hours.

This is to allow the filming of a child walking on this section of road. It is required both for the safety of the child concerned and of the crew undertaking the actual filming of this scene.

A drone will be in operation throughout this time too.

Assistant location manager Davie Gardner said: “Local access will be maintained throughout although this may be subject to very short delays.

“Sincere apologies for any inconvenience this closure may cause.

“During filming our large vehicular filming support unit will be located at Walls Harbour.

“This will inevitably result in increased traffic between the harbour area and our filming locations at (1) Burrastow and (2) the location show here on the Dale of Waas road too. Please proceed with caution in these areas.

“ITV Shetland thanks for your co-operation with this.”
