Shetland production team set to conclude filming in the isles

THE TEAM filming scenes for the next instalment in the popular Shetland crime drama has expressed its gratitude to the community for accommodating their work across the islands over recent weeks.

The production team is finishing off this week with final traffic restrictions announced for Friday at a number of locations in Lerwick.

Several parking restrictions will be in place on King Erik Street and St Olaf Street to facilitate the parking of production vehicles whilst filming at Lerwick Sheriff Court.

Location manager Andy Ross said: “Stop/go traffic holds may be in place to allow the safe filming of exterior scenes.

“These holds will be kept to an absolute minimum, and traffic will be allowed to flow freely as much as possible.”

These restrictions will be in place between 7am and 11.30am on Friday 26 June.

Please see the map below for more information.

Following on from the sheriff court the team will move to the area near the Shetland Bookshop and the former Post office on Commercial Street where filming is set to take place between 12 midday and 3.30pm.

A stop/go traffic hold will be in place to allow safe filming of scenes on the street.

There will also be some parking restrictions on Commercial Street.

Please see map below for more information.

Finally, short stop/go traffic holds will be in place for short periods on Burnside and Norstane to allow the safe filming of action vehicles driving into the small car park adjacent to the property and pulling up in front of the property.

This will happen between 12 midday and 5pm.

Please see map below for more information.

Andy Ross said: “I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone for their continued support and cooperation.  “Without this, we would not be able to do what we do.”
