Crime drama filming to move to Sumburgh, Laxo and South Nesting

WITH FILMING for the Shetland crime drama entering its final week for this year, the action will move to Sumburgh Head, then the Laxo ferry terminal and Skellister.

On Monday, traffic on the road leading to Sumburgh Head and Compass Head will experience some disruption between 7.30am and 6.30pm, the production team said.

Location manager Andy Ross said: “We have been granted permission to implement a Stop/Go traffic hold on the road beyond leading to Sumburgh Head in order to allow us to film driving scenes on this section of road.

“The Stop/Go will also be used to manage traffic up and down the road to Compass Head, where we will be filming scenes for most of the day. Holds will be very brief and kept to a minimum.”

Please see map below for more information.

On Tuesday (23 June) the production team will be filming scenes at the Laxo ferry terminal between 8am and 6pm.

The team said that filming will not interfere with the normal operation of the ferry.

A small section of car parking, clearly signed, has been reserved for the filming.

Ross said: “It would be much appreciated if this can be kept clear.”

The following days, Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June, the B9075 between Skellister and Brettabister will be closed between 7.30am and 5.30pm.

Wednesday will be the main day for filming, with Thursday held as a contingency.

Ross said that local access would be maintained for deliveries and residents.
