Paid for contentShetland filming continues outside the Marlex and near Voe
THE PRODUCTION team working on filming the next series of the Shetland crime drama has announced two further traffic restrictions over the coming days.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) the team’s second unit has been granted permission to close the layby on the A970 just north of Voe from midnight until 8pm.
Assistant location manager Andy ‘Mod’ Ross said: “We may use a Stop/Go traffic hold on the A970 to reset our action vehicle, but we hope to be able to do this within the closed layby.
“Vehicles may be asked to stop very briefly to allow the vehicle to be reset safely.”
On Thursday (21 May) parking restrictions will be in place outside The Marlex (The Douglas Arms) at 67 Commercial Road, Lerwick.
These restrictions outside the Douglas Arms will be in place between 8.30am and 3.30pm.
Ross said: “The spaces in front of the pub are required to be clear for an establishing shot and continuity.
“The spaces on the other side of the road are required for a camera position.
“The scenes being filmed should be completed quite quickly. All restrictions will be lifted as soon as filming is complete.”
See the maps for more information.
