Arts / Sea-themed character artwork pops up at the pier
AN OUTSIDE art exhibition inspired by sea related characters has popped up at Victoria Pier – at the heart of the town centre’s Tall Ships festivities.
The pictures, painted by local artist Balazs Onhausz, include portraits of characters like Captain Jack Sparrow and Popeye.
Onhausz also dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow himself and snapped a selfie of himself perched on the top of his house in Lerwick – with tall ships seen in the background.
He is no stranger to alternative exhibitions, having put up Halloween themed artwork at the derelict Park Hall building in Bixter last year.
He has also put up a Grinch painting at the Market Cross at Christmas in recent years.
