POLICE are reminding motorists in the isles to ensure they give cyclists sufficient space when overtaking.
It comes following a 58-year-old motorist being charged with dangerous driving at the weekend after almost knocking a cyclist off his bike when overtaking.
There was no injury and police said the driver never left his carriageway when overtaking.
Meanwhile, a 49-year-old man has been charged with drink driving following reports of a car driving erratically on the Esplanade in Lerwick.
Police said that following a breath test the driver was arrested and taken to the police station where he again failed police procedure.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
