News / Leask denies cultivating cannabis
A FIFTY year old man has been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to cultivating cannabis at his home in Lerwick.
Ian Leask was arrested on Thursday after officers searched his home at 6 Prospect House, Law Lane, following a tip off.
Police said they found “a professional set up” with cannabis plants that could have fetched around £3,600 on the open market.
Appearing from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Friday, Leask pled not guilty to producing the Class B drug at his home over five months between 11 September and 11 February.
Honorary sheriff Erik Peterson remanded Leask in custody until his trial on 17 March.
An intermediate hearing will take place via videolink on 1 March.
