Court / Trial adjourned after Loganair flight goes ‘technical’
A TRIAL involving a young man charged with causing serious injury by careless driving had to be adjourned until February next year as a result of the cancellation of this morning’s flight from Edinburgh.
Lerwick Sheriff Court heard that Ethan Tulloch’s solicitor was unable to represent his client after the Loganair flight was cancelled at short notice.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank said he had little choice but to accept the defence motion to adjourn.
But he advised solicitors never to travel on the same day a trial is scheduled, particularly when it involves cases in Shetland.
Loganair’s LM353 flight from Edinburgh to Sumburgh was cancelled for technical reasons.
Tulloch, 21, of Whiteness, denies driving carelessly near the Mail junction at Cunningsburgh where it is alleged that he caused a serious road traffic collision on 4 October 2022.
The trial has been adjourned to 22 February.
