Court / Man fined for Esplanade assault
A MAN from Aberdeenshire has been fined and ordered to pay compensation for an assault in Lerwick last year.
Kyle Bruce, of Ellon, appeared from custody at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday to be sentenced.
The 28-year-old previously pleaded guilty to assaulting a man on 10 August on the Esplanade in Lerwick by punching him on the head, thereby knocking him to the ground and rendering him unconscious.
He also admitted behaving aggressively, shouting, swearing, challenging others to fight and uttering threats.
Sheriff Jones fined Bruce £400 and ordered him to pay £200 compensation.
