FILMING for the popular Shetland TV series will return to Bigton Farm and the St Ninian’s Isle road on Sunday.

“We will be filming at Bigton Farm and on the adjacent private road leading down to the St Ninian’s Isle beach,” said location manager Davie Gardner.

“For this purpose we have requested, and been granted, a temporary road closure order to ensure the safety of our cast, crew and members of the public too of course.”

A stop/go traffic control system will be in place at the following times:

  • 4 June 7am to 8pm
  • 5 June 12pm to 6 June 1am
  • 6 June 12pm to 7 June 1am
  • 7 June 11am to midnight

Gardner said: “These ‘holds’ will only apply for a few minutes at a time on each occasion but we nevertheless apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please note the beach itself will remain open as normal.”

The production’s support unit will be located at the Bigton Hall for this period.

Drivers should take care due to increased traffic and large vehicles in the area.

Anyone requiring further information should contact Andy ‘Mod’ Ross (assistant locations manager) on 07963 713 446 or Lyall Gair (assistant locations manager – Shetland) on 07786 653 859.
