KT TUNSTALL is to head back to Shetland for a performance next year.

The multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter will perform at Mareel on 5 February as part of James Yorkston’s Tae Sup Wi’ A Fifer event.

Tunstall last played in the isles in 2016, performing at the Clickimin.

She will be joined on February’s bill by comedian Maeve Higgins and musician Pictish Trail.

Before that though Yorkston’s Tae Sup Wi’ A Fifer touring event will visit Mareel this coming Thursday, with Kris Drever, Iona Lee and Rozi Plain on the line-up.

Tickets for both events are available now.

Meanwhile local musician Amy Laurerson will bring her quartet show to Mareel in October.

The award-winning pianist will perform at the Lerwick venue on Saturday 5 October.

She will be joined by Charlie Stewart (double bass), Calum Convoy (bodhran) and Miguel Girão (guitar).

Laurenson previously won the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2023 prize.

Support the gig will come from The Eyland Project (Renzo Spiteri, David Boyter and Sophie Wishart) – a multi-cultural musical outfit that blends Scottish folk music with Mediterranean, North African and Middle Eastern rhythmic patterns.

Tickets for that gig are also available now.
