Wormadale road open again after vehicle on fire

THE A971 at Wormadale has been opened again following a car on fire earlier on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the incident near the Wormadale viewpoint at just after 11am.

A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue service said one appliance from Lerwick attended.

The road was closed for a while to allow for vehicle recovery.

Police Scotland have so far not responded to a request for comment.
