LERWICK Harbour has received the largest decommissioning project to date with the 16,000-tonne North Cormorant topside arriving at the port this morning (Saturday).

The topside arrived off the decommissioning site at Dales Voe on board the world’s largest offshore construction vessel Allseas‘ Pioneering Spirit.

Once taken onshore, staff from Brown & Mason and Peterson Energies will undertake the dismantling and recycling, expected to last 18 months.

Lerwick Port Authority said the project showcased the collaboration between Brown & Mason and Peterson at the port and further strengthens its growing track record in offshore decommissioning.
