COMEDIAN Phill Jupitus will be on the line-up in Lerwick as a touring roadshow of music and arts celebrates its tenth anniversary with another jaunt around Scotland.

James Yorkston’s Tae Sup Wi’ a Fifer is due to return to Mareel on Saturday 23 May.

Never Mind the Buzzcocks star Jupitus will be joined by musician Kirsty Newton for the gig.

Also appearing will be Kate Stables, who is the leader of the acclaimed indie-folk band This Is The Kit.

Aberdeen indie-folk twin sister duo The Elidas will also perform, while singer-songwriter Yorkston will make an appearance too.

Founded at the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy in 2016, Tae Sup delivers relaxed evenings with multi-artist line-ups of established names and new discoveries from music, poetry and spoken word.

It has visited Mareel on numerous occasions in the past, featuring performers such as KT Tunstall, Radiohead drummer Philip Selway and writer Len Pennie.

Meanwhile May marks a busy month of music at Mareel, with the Shetland Arts venue due to host a number of gigs.

There will be an Elvis Presley tribute concert on Friday 15 May before Kenneth Pattengale of American act Milk Carton Kids performs on 20 May.

Local band The Plonkys will perform in the auditorium on 22 May before Tae Sup takes to the stage the night after.

Tickets are available for all concerts.
