Roller disco next up for young promoters

THE SHETLAND Young Promoters Group might be best known for putting on all-ages concerts, but this weekend will see a roller disco added to the mix.

The group is hosting a roller disco called FLASH!!! at Mareel tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon between 2pm and 5pm.

The group said participants can enjoy the sounds of DJ Mixi Chik while skating around the auditorium.

They describe the event is a BYOS – bring your own skates.

The music will be a “mix of 80s and 90s tunes with some more modern music thrown in throughout”.

Tickets are available to buy online or in person at Mareel. All ages are welcome, and accompanying adults enter for free.

In recent months the young promoters group has hosted a series of concerts at Mareel open to youngsters.

The project is designed to empower young people to stage events and gain the skills and knowledge needed to manage and promote their own concerts.
