Letters / Dispiriting
It was dispiriting to read that ‘work by local folk’ had been vital in the scheme to wreck the northwest corner of Yell with a massive wind farm.
It is one of Shetland’s most beautiful districts. I can only assume that local folk are not in the habit of going there. Vigon? Burgi Geos? Whaar’s dat!
It is only my guess, but I suspect that in 2020 many Shetlanders think that Facebook is much more attractive than the environment.
That could explain why the local political parties have had nothing to say on the subject. But is it really more wholesome to drool over clips of Jeremy Corbyn or Priti Patel than to take a brisk walk in the hill?
