LOCAL police officers are offering advice on how best to keep safe over the festive period with a series of drop-in sessions.

Lerwick police will be joined by the fire service, Woman’s Aid and trading standards at the public sessions over three days.

Prevention and interventions officer Amanda Souter said the force would give advice on how to protect yourself while out partying or shopping, as well as at home and online.

The first session will take place at the Market Cross in Lerwick on Monday 14 December between 11am and 2pm.

The second will be held at the town’s Tesco supermarket on Wednesday 16 December between 11.30am and 1.30pm.

The final session is set to take place at the Toll Clock Shopping Centre on Thursday 17 December between 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
