Man in ‘critical condition’ after serious crash on Sunday morning
THE PASSENGER involved in a serious crash in Shetland on Sunday morning remains in “critical condition”, police have said.
Officers are appealing for information following the crash at around 12.45am on Sunday 12 July on the B9076 road, near the former Scatsta Airport.
The crash involved a white Toyota Hilux, with the 30-year-old man driving the vehicle then arrested and released pending further inquiries.
The male passenger was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he remains in a critical condition.
Sergeant Scott MacDonald said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this crash and I am appealing for anyone who saw the crash and hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us.”

The road between Brae and Sella Ness/Sullom Voe Terminal was closed on Sunday to allow police to carry out their investigations. It was only reopened on Monday morning.
