Transport / Limited parking available at Sumburgh Airport

AS THE October school holidays begin people flying south are being warned they may not find a space in the Sumburgh Airport car park.

The airport’s car parks were said to be full at 9am today (Sunday), with limited space at the memorial car park only.

A post on the Sumburgh Airport Facebook page said people flying should “consider car sharing, drop-offs, public transport or taxis where possible”.

“We are working hard to try and accommodate as much as we can. It is important for fire and safety reasons, for cars not to park on any of the clearway roads leading to the terminal building,” it added.

“All cars must be parked in a designated parking area. Please be considerate of other car park users.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
