Coronavirus / Further Covid death registered
AN ELDERLY man from Shetland who had tested positive for Covid-19 and was receiving treatment on the mainland has died.
The death was registered on 9 November and confirmed via the Public Health Scotland daily statistical update on how the Covid pandemic affects different health board areas in Scotland.
It is understood that he had underlying health conditions and was receiving treatment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
NHS Shetland chief executive Michael Dickson said: “I know I speak on behalf of all at NHS Shetland in offering our sincerest condolences to the affected family.”
It brings the number of people in Shetland who have died of coronavirus symptoms since the start of the pandemic in March to eight.
