Letters / It’s laughable

Douglas, why do you need figures (Seeking Answers; SN 28/11/13)?

You keep ignoring what you are told and provide your own, as these little gems you yourself published on the debate site here on Shetland News proves.

Scotland’s share of UK debt will be reduced by her share of UK assets, currently £109 billion or £129 billion, due as population share or tax paid. (HM Treasury, Whole of Government Accounts, March 2013)

And this on the Yes Shetland Facebook site Douglas Young writes:

“Scotland receives more than £1,000 per head more in spending than England.”
True. But for the last 32 years we paid £1,700 (currently) more into the pot.
Tax rebate on gaining independence estimated around £200 billion. In cash please. Sterling. GBP. Pounds.
Better Apart.”

All the rest of the figures you need are in the fantasy vision of the future you call “Our Future”.

You should read it; it’s laughable.
