Up Helly Aa disturbances

| Written by Shetland News

POLICE are investigating reports of two separate disturbances at halls during Lerwick Up Helly Aa last week.

The first incident allegedly took place during festivities within the Holmsgarth ferry terminal in the early hours of Wednesday 31 January.

The second reported disturbance is said to have taken place in the Lerwick Legion, again in the early hours of 31 January.

Police provided little detail as to the nature of the alleged disturbances, but they confirmed they were being treated as assaults.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Police Scotland in Shetland on telephone 101, call along the Lerwick police station or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 55511.
