POLITICAL signs for the SNP and Green parties have been pulled down and removed from Sound Brae in Lerwick overnight.

Local SNP candidate Hannah Mary Goodlad confirmed to Shetland News that the party’s signs had been stolen between Friday night and Saturday morning.

She said that the police would be informed.

“So many people are wanting our signs that they’re taking them off the lampposts,” she said.

“We have plenty so if you want one to display in your window just get in touch.”

A series of signs for the Green party have also been taken down, with cut cable ties and pieces of green wood visible in the area.

Signs for the Liberal Democrat party remain up on the other side of the road.

The Green and SNP signs resume from the Sound roundabout.

It comes just over a week after a Green sign saying “A is for Autonomy” was vandalised at the top of the Sound Brae with grey paint. It was later replaced by the party.
