Community / Fire station open day raises more than £5,000
THE OPEN day at the Lerwick Community Fire and Ambulance Station which was held at the end of August has raised more than £5,000.
The money raised will go towards the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Family Trust and Shetland Heart Screening.
The event was held on 26 August, with plenty of activities on offer for all the family.
Watch commander Colin Nicolson said: “We would like to thank all who attended and contributed to a successful event. We were overwhelmed with the level of support we received during the day.
“This was the first community engagement event held in over four years due to Covid. It provides a great opportunity to connect with the community and to inspire the future generations of emergency services personnel.”
