Marine / Dim Riv returns to the water

Photo: Scott Goudie

YESTERDAY (Saturday) saw the welcome sight of the Viking longship Dim Riv returning to the water in Lerwick.

She has been out of the water since September – and following a fresh lick of paint she is ready for the 2022 season.

The longship will take up her usual anchor spot near the lodberries once some repairs are carried out on anchor chains.

The boat was launched in 1980 and a group of volunteers runs trips around Lerwick Harbour in the summer months.
