Arrival of Charisma completes renewal of Whalsay pelagic fleet

THE FISHING community of Whalsay welcomed the sixth new state of the art pelagic trawler at the weekend when the 75 metre Charisma sailed into Symbister harbour on Sunday afternoon.

She is the third new arrival this year after Zephyr and Adenia were both delivered in September. The Serene and Research were both replaced in autumn of last year, while the Antares new build was completed in 2016. The Antarctic II was lengthened in 2017.

Charisma was designed and built at Karstensens shipyard at Skagen in Denmark.

Photos of Charisma’s arrival at Symbister are by Ivan Reid. More interior photos of the vessel can be found on the shipyard’s Facebook page.
