Sport / Three more bronze medals at Island Games

SHETLAND won three more bronze medals at the Island Games in Gibraltar on Monday.

Katie Dinwoodie came in third place in the 100m sprint with a time of 12.97 seconds.

There was success later in the swimming pool when Felix Gifford bagged bronze in the men’s 200m butterfly final with a time of 2:04.47.

Jasmin Smith also added to Team Shetland’s tally of bronze medals in the 50m breaststroke, achieving a result of 32.29 seconds.

It comes after the women’s triathlon team won bronze on Sunday.

In other sports on Monday, Shetland’s badminton team came sixth overall, losing to Jersey in the fifth/sixth placed play-off.

Maggie Adamson came eighth in the sailing laser radial rig final, while the shooting team finished sixth in the automatic ball trap final.
