Police alerted after Lerwick cafe broken into

POLICE are looking for information after a theft by housebreaking was reported at the Havly Cafe in Lerwick earlier this week.

The incident took place between 4pm on Wednesday and 7.45am on Thursday.

Officers, meanwhile, are also keen to speak to witnesses about an alleged piece of careless driving which occurred on Sunday.

A black Peugeot was said to have been carrying out dangerous overtaking manoeuvres on the A970 at the Brig o’ Fitch at around 8.50pm.

It caused two white coloured vehicles to take evasive action at the junction heading towards Scalloway.

Police are particularly interested in speaking to drivers of the white vehicles, one of which was described as a Berlingo style van.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents are asked to contact Police Scotland in Shetland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Alternatively they can attend at Lerwick Police Station.
