News / Man denies assaulting ex-partner

A stone civic building with a pointed roof, labeled "SOUTH RONALDSAY TOWN HALL," featuring chimneys, multiple windows, and a flagpole nearby, situated in a coastal town.

A THIRTY two year old man will stand trial for allegedly assaulting his ex-partner next month.

Lukasz Malich, of Ladies Drive, Lerwick, appeared from custody at the town’s sheriff court on Monday afternoon, where he denied all of the charges.

He is accused of pushing his former partner against a wall on 29 August, and seizing her by the throat and restraining her.

Between 30 August and 3 September, Malich is also said to have contacted his ex-partner despite being ordered by Lerwick Sheriff Court not to do so.

Malich was released on bail under the condition that he does not contact two people, and that he does not enter the Swarthoull area of Lerwick.

He will go on trial on 24 October.
