Thank you for your article about the Shetland Bus Friendship Society paying tribute to those who sacrificed so much to resist and ultimately defeat fascism in Norway and preventing it encroaching to our shores.

No better tribute than the young women and men of the Statsraad Lehmkuhl honouring their fallen country-women and men.
I found the photographs and commentary incredibly moving and it brought back so many memories of interaction and subsequent friendships with our Norwegian cousins.
For all the delightful carry on of our UHAs, the living daily friendships between today’s generations embodies the true spirit of living heritage and history.
Unable to attend in person, heartfelt thanks to all who participated and spoke so eloquently of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
With conflict raging on the continent of Europe to combat today’s fascists, we should be minded that for evil to triumph, good people need do nothing.
Fortunately we abound with good people, those who will speak up and act for the oppressed.
We remember them best through our actions and solidarity. Lest we forget.
