BBC Filming / Crime drama filming to resume in Lerwick next week
FILMING for the seventh series of crime drama Shetland will resume in the isles next week.
To kick things off ITV Shetland will be filming scenes at Gardie Lane in Lerwick on Monday 30 August from around 2pm to 7pm.
The production team has been granted temporary parking restrictions from the SIC in the immediate area and also in the main car park on Church Road to facilitate both the parking of action vehicles – including emergency vehicles – and the filming support vehicles.
“Although filming will only take place in the area from 2pm to 7pm on that day, these parking restrictions will, however, be in place throughout the day,” Shetland location manager Davie Gardner said.
“We ask for your co-operation in this respect and apologise in advance for any temporary inconvenience caused by this.
“To further facilitate filming in the area it may be necessary to temporarily hold any pedestrian traffic in the immediate area of the actual filming location as well – No 6 Gardie Lane.
“These ‘holds’ will only last for a few minutes at a time however while actual filming of action scenes takes place.
“Again apologies in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, particularly to residents.”
Anyone with any questions should contact Davie Gardner on 07867 654 509 or assistant location manager Andy Ross on 07963 713 446.
