News / Another murder
MORE murders are being committed in Shetland on the pages of award winning crime writer Ann Cleeves’ books than in real life, thank goodness.
The most recent comes with the launch of her fifth Shetland novel, the first in a second quartet of crime thrillers set in the isles featuring fictional detective Jimmy Perez.
Dead Water is launched at Mareel on Thursday night telling the story of a former Shetland Times journalist found dead after investigating a renewable energy story.
Joining Cleeves on stage will be leading forensic pathologist Dr James Grieve, who features as himself in the book. There will also be readings by Shetland actors.
In March the BBC will show a dramatised version of Cleeves’ third Shetland novel Red Bones under the title Shetland.
