NorthLink warns of disruption as October holidays start

AS THE October holidays get under way, travellers have been warned of possible disruption to NorthLink ferry services later this week.

The ferry operator said that present weather forecasts indicated the possibility of disruption between Tuesday through Thursday this week.

More detailed updates will follow as forecasts are updated.

NorthLink has also advised of some disruption to freight services, with the Helliar likely to be delayed arriving into Lerwick on Wednesday by up to one hour.

Her departure from Lerwick on Wednesday could also be brought forward, with the vessel potentially leaving as early as 4pm.

A further update will follow tomorrow.
