NorthLink warns of ferry disruption over coming days
INTER-island ferry routes are currently suspended and the Lerwick to Sumburgh bus service will only resume at 5.10pm from the Viking bus station as yet another severe gale sweeps across the islands.
The Whalsay, Yell Sound, Bluemull Sound and Bressay ferries have all stopped running.
NorthLink Ferries has cancelled all sailings to and from Shetland tonight (Wednesday) and is warning of further disruptions later in the week.
On Thursday the northbound sailing will run as usual, but the southbound will leave Lerwick at 3.30pm instead of 7pm.
On Friday the northbound sailing is under review, with an update set to be given in due course, and the southbound service will leave Lerwick at 4pm.
Meanwhile, there delays and cancellations at Sumburgh airport and passengers are advised to check with their airline.
