Bottled water made available after burst water main in West Mainland

PARTS of the West Mainland have been left without water this morning (Monday) because of a burst water main in Aith.

Customers in areas like Bixter, Twatt and Aith have all been affected by the outage, which was first reported by Scottish Water just after 9am.

The Aith public hall.

A bottled water collection point has been set up at the Aith Public Hall for customers to pick up water.

Scottish Water is also delivering bottled water to customers on its priority services register.

The company said a burst trunk water main at its Aith distribution reservoir had led to the outage this morning.

Repairs are currently being carried out, with work expected to be completed by 3pm.

Scottish Water apologised for the disruption and thanked its customers for their patience while it works to resolve the issue.
