Transport / NorthLink to resume sailings tonight
THE NORTHLINK passenger ships will set sail tonight (Saturday) for the first time in a number of days as the wind eases.
The northbound sailing to Lerwick will depart Aberdeen at 5pm, although this may be delayed. The call at Kirkwall has been cancelled.
The southbound sailing will leave Lerwick at 5pm instead of 7pm, and it is due to arrive in Aberdeen at 9am on Sunday.
The freight sailings, however, are still slightly disrupted.
The northbound trip to Lerwick will only depart Aberdeen at 6am on Sunday. The southbound sailing will leave Lerwick as planned on Saturday at 6pm but it may only arrive in Aberdeen at 3pm the next day.
The last time the NorthLink passenger and freight ships sailed was on Monday overnight into Tuesday, with four days of cancellations due to the weather.
