THERE was more success for Team Shetland on day five of the Island Games in Gotland, with swimmer Felix Gifford landing his fourth medal.

After winning gold and two silvers earlier in the week, he came second in the men’s 400m freestyle event on Thursday with a time of 03:56.21.

Faye Cox meanwhile bagged a bronze after coming third in the 200m women’s final in the athletics with a time of 25.17.

She beat her Shetland compatriot Molly Morgan, who finished in sixth place.

John Magnus Laureson is doing well in the individual skeet shooting event and he is currently placed in third with a few more rounds to go.

The football team meanwhile failed to overcome neighbour rivals Orkney as they lost 3-1 in what was billed as the 9th/10th placing match, with Sam Maver grabbing Shetland’s sole goal.

The blues’ medal tally currently stands at ten – three golds, three silvers and four bronzes.

Six of them has come from the swimming team, while athletics has bagged two.

At the end of day five, Shetland sat 13th on the medal table of 23 islands.
