News / Overdue diver found safe and well
LERWICK lifeboat and the Sumburgh based search and rescue helicopter were called out on Saturday morning after concerns were raised for an overdue diver near Uyea, off the island of Unst.
Thankfully, the man was found before emergency services arrived at the scene.
Lerwick lifeboat stood down, and the Coastguard chopper returned to base but not before its crew had checked over the diver to ensure that he was not in need of medical attention.
Shetland Coastguard was alerted at 8.52am.
