News / Best bull calf
SHETLAND Aberdeen Angus breeder Jamie Leslie, from Scholland, Virkie, proved himself once again by winning the bull calf championship at the Black Beauty Bonanza at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, on Friday.
Heading up a strong show of bull calves from 34 herds was Leslie’s Scholland Dagger P637, a 10 month old son of Nightingale Proud Jake G405.
This is the second success for the south mainland breeder at the annual show, where he won the heifer calf championship in 2009.
Veteran judge Jim McMillan, from Brechin, praised the standard of cattle on show.
“It was a tremendous show of cattle with all the class winners and champions showing great style and character,” he said.
