News / Bad temper
A LERWICK man who lost his temper after being woken up by his girlfriend bringing home some visitors admitted five charges at the town’s sheriff court on Thursday.
The court heard that 25 year old Wayne Hunter took exception to the three late night drinkers when they turned up at his partner’s flat where he was sleeping in the early hours of 8 September.
Hunter, of 34a Ladies Drive, assaulted a man and two women by pushing them against a wall.
During the row with his partner that ensued, Hunter also punched a hole in an internal wall.
Following a night in the cells he was released on bail on condition he did not contact or approach his partner, a condition he admitted breaching.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie called for a non-harassment order after the woman, now his ex, said that she was scared of him and wanted nothing to do with him any more.
Sheriff Philipp Mann warned Hunter that with his criminal record he was on a one way street to prison if he continued to behave like this.
Since all three victims were uninjured, the sheriff said justice would be done by imposing a fine of £1,200, payable at a rate of £100 per month.
