News / Hrossey late
NORTHLINK’s passenger ferry Hrossey was more than two hours late into Aberdeen harbour on Tuesday morning after suffering an “engine problem” prior to departure from Lerwick.
A spokeswoman for the company said she didn’t know exactly what the cause of the problem was that delayed the departure of the vessel by three and a half hours.
The NorthLink website said the vessel was late in arriving “due to technical issues”.
The vessel was scheduled to sail for Aberdeen via Kirkwall at 5.30pm on Monday, but left at 9pm. It arrived at Aberdeen at 9.10am, on Tuesday morning.
Last month, the Orkney ferry Hamnavoe had to be taken out of service for three weeks after the crankshaft of her starboard engine needed to be replaced.
