Letters / Booze instead of social services
On Tuesday we listened patiently to Social Services vice-chairman Councillor Allison Duncan who told us that it was our fault that the Freefield centre could not be kept open, and that “Plan B” would have to be put in place (without revealing just what Plan B was).
We were also informed that the Freefield building itself was in need of expensive repairs although there is no visible sign of this being required.
Some of us think that the SIC are trying to make the crime fit the punishment.
Councillors have made it clear that entertainment and booze (Mareel’s handout) come way ahead of real social services.
