News / “Weird and creepy”
SENTENCE on a Shetland man who threatened to blow up his girlfriend and abduct her child was deferred for reports when he appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Kenneth Harper, of Exnaboe, Virkie admitted making threats at a Lerwick address on 24 and 25 October last year.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie told the court that the 31 year old was “obsessive towards the girl” he had only been in a relationship with for a few weeks.
“At the very least this could be described as weird and creepy,” Mackenzie said.
The court heard that Harper made the threats after his girlfriend was visited by a male acquaintance.
Mackenzie said the woman was frightened by Harper’s behavior, and believed his threats were a “clear possibility”.
